'Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta' will be available for download on July 29, the same day windows 10 becomes available for PC's and tablets.
The announcement was made at Minecon 2015, where all things Minecraft are celebrated. "Just like the first release of Minecraft all those years ago, thid version will develop and evolve over time with the help of your feedback", writes owen hill of Mojang, in a post on Xbox wire. "That's why it has Beta in the title-because it's not quite finished and will become even more fun over time."
The beta version includes support for multiple inputs- you can switch between controller, touch and keyboard control - and you can record and share gameplay highlights using the built-in gameDVR. Players who already have the PC editions of Minecraft can download the windows 10 beta version for free.
Others can download "Minecraft: Windows 10 edition beta" at a discounted price of $10 throughout the beta period. Players who can download "Minecraft: windows 10 edition" during the beta phase will still have game when it comes out of beta and will recieve all future updates to the game at no additional cost, Writes windows team in a blog post.
